A “regulatory recovery” fee that is not a tax. Then you land and buy a SIM you will throw away. That bill is the product. US Mobile Premium is the switch. Same towers. All-in price. 20GB when you leave the country. A four-line household on a typical postpaid family plan can keep $1,300 to $2,000 a year. That is a trip, not a coupon. Do it this month. ## Who this is for A working family on a four-line bill, with unlocked phones, and a trip on the calendar. If that is your house, you should switch. ## Skip this if You want to finance the next phone through Apple, Samsung, Google, or a carrier installment. That plan is the lock-in. Pay the phone off or buy it unlocked, then move. A store and a trade-in are what you give up. They are not worth $2,000 a year. ## The money US Mobile Unlimited Premium, annual, as of September 5, 2026 on usmobile.com/plans. Taxes and fees included. First year: $299 a line ($1,196 for four). Promo code ONLY299 for a new line or a port-in. - After that: $390 a line ($1,560 for four). T-Mobile’s own plan page, same day, Experience More 2.0: $220 a month for four lines, plus $4.49 recovery fee per line, plus tax. That is about $2,856 a year before sales tax. Experience Beyond 2.0 is $280 for four lines, same fee, about $3,576 a year before tax. Verizon and AT&T four-line unlimited bills live in the same neighborhood once the junk fees land. Do the subtraction on your actual bill, not a slogan. Versus Experience More: about $1,660 back the first year, about $1,300 every year after, before their tax. - Versus Experience Beyond: about $2,000 a year after the first year. First year is more. That is the thousands. It does not require a fifth card, a “family mix,” or a weekend at the store. ## How it works US Mobile is an MVNO. You pick Warp, Light Speed, or Dark Star. They ride Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. Confirm the mapping on US Mobile’s network page, then pick the one that actually covers your house. You can transfer networks later. Premium transfers are free. For trips, Light Speed currently lists the most countries (180+). Warp is 125+. Dark Star is 110+, and 30 of those are data-only. Features vary by network. Do not assume the 20GB works in 180 countries on every network. Run Travel Planner in the app for the destination you actually booked. Premium is the plan to buy. Not because every plan should be the expensive one. Because this is the travel phone: 20GB of roaming data, 200 minutes, 250 texts, on monthly or annual. Starter annual is 1GB of roaming. Flex has no roaming in the bundle. If you leave the country, Premium is the one. The annoying part, and it is real: the line has to have domestic U.S. usage first. Roaming will not work if you activate abroad. Set it up at home. Use it on U.S. towers. Turn on Data Roaming and VoLTE before you board. After you land, let it attach. Help says that can take up to an hour. Skip the airport kiosk. Hotspot marketing says “unlimited” on Dark Star. The help center on Dark Star Premium says 100GB high-speed, then 100GB at 8 Mbps, then 600 Kbps. Confirm the cap on the live plan card. Do not plan a hotspot trip around a slogan. There is no traditional multi-line discount. Each line is the per-line rate. That is why the four-line math is clean: $299 × 4, then $390 × 4\. Three or more Premium lines can get up to $15 a month in perk credit toward listed streaming for one year. Nice. Not the reason you switch. US Mobile advertises a 30-day trial. Use it on the network you live on. If the house is covered, port the numbers and pay annual. Do not stay on the trial forever. The savings start when the four lines are on Premium. ## What to do this month 1\. Unlock every phone. If a carrier still owns the installment, that is the only reason to wait. 2\. Start the trial at home. Pick the network that covers the house. 3\. Use the line on U.S. towers. Make a call. Run Travel Planner for the next trip. 4\. Port all four numbers onto Unlimited Premium annual. Code ONLY299\. Taxes are in. You should not see a surprise recovery fee. 5\. Turn on Data Roaming before you fly. Skip the airport SIM. If you never leave the country, Starter annual is cheaper. That is a plan pick on US Mobile, not a reason to keep AT&T. ## What not to do Do not activate after you land. Do not buy monthly Starter and assume you have roaming. Do not keep one line on Verizon “just in case” and erase the savings. Do not open a credit card to pay for a phone plan. Do not stay for Netflix-on-us if the bill is still $3,000. ## Next Pull the bill. If four lines are north of $200 a month before tax, switch. The trial is how you find out the network covers the house. Premium annual is how you keep the thousands.
